Wang Shizhen’s Inheritance and Practice of Family Tradition and Their Practical Significance

Abstract： As one leader of the “seven late scholars”， Wang Shizhen dominated the forum of literature for nearly forty years， spreading his name to every corner of China. In his career as an official for forty-three years， he adhered to the family tradition， candid and forthright toward the dignitary， compassionate and affectionate toward his friends， committed to his duty for the well-being of the mass， benefiting the public where he served as an official， and winning remarkable achievements. With these， he became popularly known as an honest and clean official to whom late comers pay due respect and admiration. Fertile soil of family tradition forged the strong character of Wang Shizhen as a righteous and honest official， even simultaneously illustrating the series of speeches by President Xi Jinping about family tradition and honest and clean administration， thus proving itself to be considerably worthy of referring to in the current construction of honest and clean government.
